1. About the Film: ANANT revolves around the life of four HIV+ patients. The music is by Jagjit Singh ji and the star cast includes Deepti Naval, Kanwaljeet Singh and Seema Biswas. Star TV on the World AIDS Day for the South-East Asian Region premiered ANANT. It had a viewership of 170 million people and received rave reviews. The film is based on a story by Alok Mukhopadhyay. Raman Kumar and Anurag Basu were part of Direction team. The film has been dubbed in 9 languages and was also screened at ALL ASIA AIDS CONFERENCE, Nepal in 1999. 2. Story: Four people from different walks of life are drawn together under compelling circumstances in the AIDS ward of a city hospital. The words of a film star, Harish Khanna come crashing down with the realization that he is HIV positive which he acquired because of his drug injecting and sharing habit. He comes across three other persons, a housewife and her daughter, and a Commercial Sex Worker in the hospital, all undergoing emotional trauma due to discrimination and rejection by society on account of being HIV positive. The innocence of the little girl draws everyone into a common bond of friendship. The story revolves around their will to overcome odds and live positively and enjoy the remaining days of their life. 3.
