Dastaan- E- Ghazal | Live with Jagjit Singh | Revival - Dil Ki Awaaz - Jagjit Singh Timeless Hits

 In the year 1993, Jagjit Singh Ji launched a music album by the name of 'Live with Jagjit Singh'.

Actually, this album was recorded as a live concert at Nanavati Hall, Khar, Mumbai and it was not a studio recording. Jagjit Singh Ji sang many Ghazals and Nazms during this live recording and it was released by HMV on cassettes and CDs.

Later in the year 1998, this live recording was launched by SaReGaMA music company in the form of VCD and DVD with the title 'Dastaan E Ghazal'. But unfortunately due to the limitation of the digital format many Ghazals were not included in this presentation.

In the year 1999, Sony Television produced a series named 'Revival' and telecasted it in two series viz. Revival - 'Tribute to Ghalib by Jagjit Singh' and Revival - Dil Ki Awaaz - 'Jagjit Singh Timeless Hits'. The second series was nothing different but was the concert which was actually recorded in 1993 and then later released as 'Dastaan E Ghazal' in 1998.

But the major highlight of this series was that it included the session of introduction to ghazals by Jagjit Singh Ji, and it was presented as a special program for the upcoming millennium year.
