Greetings on Buddha Purnima!
Today I am presenting the song from the 1983 unreleased film 'Nirvana' which is sung by Jagjit Singh and Victor Jhirad.
This film was directed by Jalal Agha and starred, Tinnu Anand, Amol Palekar, Amol Palekar, Sarika & Naseeruddin Shah.
The music was composed by Jagjit Singh and Chitra Singh.
The lyrics were by Rahi Massom Reza and Raajesh Johri.
The plot revolves around a Mumbai air hostess (Sarika), who comes on a hunting holiday with a friend (Naseeruddin) to the Lohardaga house of Nandlal Sahu where Tinnu Anand is also present. Sarika is excited about hunting, but her heart changes after she sees a tear dropping from the eyes of a just-killed deer. She falls in love with the village and decides to make it her home. The low-budget film depicts Jharkhand at its scenic best and could have paved the way for more movies in the state.
Trivia:
1) The film is completed and unreleased because Jalal Agha had a major fight with the producers during the filming.
2) Shashi Kapoor son Karan was a photographer for the film.
3) The script was written for Sharmila Tagore 10 years prior.
4) Smita Patil declined the film due to the delays.
