ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਮਿਟੀ ਧੁੰਧੁ ਜਗਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਹੋਆ।

सतिगुरु नानकु प्रगटिआ मिटी धुंधु जगि चानणु होआ ।

With the emergence of the true Guru Nanak, the mist cleared and the light scattered all around.

ਜਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਤਾਰੇ ਛਪਿ ਅੰਧੇਰੁ ਪਲੋਆ।

जिउ करि सूरजु निकलिआ तारे छिपे अंधेरु पलोआ ।

As if at the sunrise the stars disappeared and the darkness dispelled.
